FOREST WEDDING | BOHO WEDDING IN FOREST HILL, CA | IRISH WEDDING | CALIFORNIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

This wedding took place in the middle of the forest at the beautiful Mountain Shadows Retreat in Foresthill, CA. This venue is stunning without help, but adding florals from Rose Marry & Vine really took it up a notch.

The couple had a first look followed by their bridal party portraits with smoke bombs before guests arrived. Greeting their guests as they arrived at the pre-ceremony, cocktail hour. Then it was time to say "I do".

The dinner by Jackson Catering was delicious and so beautifully prepared. Just look at these dishes!

GLACIER POINT ELOPEMENT | CHIC INTIMATE WEDDING IN YOSEMITE, CA | ADVENTURE ELOPEMENT | CALIFORNIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

This Yosemite elopement was pretty incredible. With only 23 people, we drove the hour and a half to Glacier Point from Tenaya Lodge so these guys could get hitched in one of the most iconic locations in the United States.

Probably one of my most favorite moments of the day was during the drive to Glacier Point. There was no radio, no USB or AUX to connect to phones, BUT randomly there was a CD left in the player from who knows how long ago - "Hella Ratchet, 2". So for a total of 3 hours round trip of their wedding day, we listened to probably the least romantic, non-pc, inappropriate music available, and it was HILARIOUS. Awwwww, memories!

A Photographer's Passion Project: Changing the definition of beauty.

San Joaquin Magazine Cover Redefining Beauty Project

I can’t express how amazingly excited I am to announce being the cover story for a local publication, San Joaquin Magazine. Early this year they got wind of a project I was announcing to “Redefine Beauty” a project that glorifies our differences rather than tells us that weight or scars or age, whatever doesn’t make us beautiful. This project was ignited by a friend and local artist - Tara - who had BII and had a double mastectomy. You can read her story here.

Please take a moment to read my story along with the stories of these 4 courageous and incredible women.

Ladies, I love you. Thank you for being a part of this. Your beauty and vulnerability have captivated me, I am honored to have been a part of your story.

Click here for the full 14-page spread (pages 40-54)

**This issue was released on January 3, 2020.

I am continually looking to uplift and showcase the beauty of our differences. I want to raise awareness and change the face of beauty in this world. Let's break beauty barriers together. Please email me at shannon@preservestudio.com for more information.
